Slab City: We're Getting Very Near The End

The weather is beginning to warm up.
Rattlesnakes are emerging along with other nasties.
I can't stay much longer so the
moments increase in their preciousness.

My friends continue to provide rich fodder
for my photographic efforts: Gwen,

 Randall

and the Godfather of Slab City, Radio Mike.

The music nights continue to be a beautiful thing.
Here's a recent Tuesday at Sandi's shot from
atop Pepe and Sue's motorhome.

Continuing with the aerial shots of Slab City parties,
here's a Friday at Radio Mike's from the top of Randall's bus.

Here are a few more portraits of friends from Slab City

Karen, the Balloon Lady at the Talent Show

The "Hansen" brothers. New at the Slabs this year.
Good music. Good energy. Good people.

John

Steve, the rock-stacker, the tower-builder...

...and his camp. He's not the only guy out in the desert with a kayak.

 Henry

John, man of many talents...

...and beautiful rig.

There's always lots of music at the Slabs:
at the Range

at campfires. Here at Sandi's

In the Niland Tomato Festival parade. Here the fumes
have gotten to Henry the Fiddler. He just slumped right over.
